Help plz......?

1)Does the principal of linear superposition imply tht two sounds wave passing through the same place at the same time always create louder sound either a wave alone?



2)At an open air rock rock concert the music is played through the speakers tht r on the stage.the speaker point straight forward and nt toward the side.u r wandering abt and notice tht the sound of female vocalists can be hear infront of the satge bt nt off to the side. The rhythmic bass however can be hear both infront of the stage and off to the side. How does the phenomenon diffracting.



3)A tension in the guitar string is doubled. Does the frequency of oscillation also doubled?if nt by wht factor does the frequency change?specify whether the change is increase or decrese.



4)A turning forks has frequency of 440 hz the string of violin and this turning fork whn sounded together produce a beat frequency of 1 hz. From this two pice of information alone is it possible to determine the exact frequency of violin str

1) Yes as long as they have the same wavelength or close to a multiple no. of the same wavelengths. The amplitudes add and so the sound is louder.



2) Don't understand what the question at the end means, why are you using the term diffracting and sentence is not complete.



3) f = 1/2l (sqrt(T)/mu), where l is the length of the string, T is the tension in the string and mu is the mass per unit length of the string. Hence, if the tension is doubled providing all other factors remain untouched, the frequency will increase by 1.414 or sqrt(2).



4) Yes, the frequency of the violin string is either +/-1Hz within that of the tuning fork, i.e. 441Hz or 439Hz. You need to know whether the string is causing the depressions or if its the tuning fork, in the latter case u add the 1Hz to the 440Hz and in the former you deduct it to find the frequency of the violin string.
