We have a vintage guitar with the label of Louis Sutz inside and are curious as to it's value.
Louis Sutz maker of violins, mandolins, guitars, etc. in Cincinnati, Ohio circa 1900. Anybody know of him?classical music
Sutz is not widely known at all. Most of the guitars that carry his name were either hand built by him, or under his apprentices (he had 13 apprentices in the period of 6 years, only one was able to go through the rigorous program). They dont carry much of a value, same as any other small luthier business. Without seeing the guitar first hand, and examining it in and out, there's no way for someone to tell of the value over the internet. Given a 100% condition, it would be worth about 1500 USD.
